Click on an activity description in the right panel, and then highlight the activity in the BPMN diagram.
What is the problem you encounter?
No problem, UX.
Why do you want this wish?
If people read information in the right panel, and quickly want to see which activity it concerns.

It does work the other way around and the other way around is no on our roadmap yet. When this gets more votes we will implement after the Material UI exercise.
