Improve the layout and readability in the process portal

Create a smarter UX design of the process portal, so that processes are better visible, and left + right elements (navigation and process information) are positioned in a more readable way with minimum effect on the BPMN view.
What is the problem you encounter?
Left and right menu's in the process portal:
1. take a lot of space
2. Are not very readable (too narrow for full process name), not resizable
Result: information is not easily shown, especially on laptop screens.
Why do you want this wish?
Find a way to maximize process insight and overview (without too much zooming in) and at the same time allow for easy navigation and ability to view process detail information.
(I know, difficult wish)
Do you have a workaround? And if so, what is it?
No, only hiding the left / right menu.
How would you ideally solve the problem?
That's a good UX job I think. Happy to be beta tester.
For instance: activity information in a small corner or as a popup?
How big is the problem on a scale from 1 to 5?

We are currently refactoring the front-end code to Material UI which will solve the readability immensely. Navigation will be improved.
